The Hooding & Blessing of the Hands Ceremony is a College of Nursing tradition held to celebrate the DNP graduating class. A student speaker from the graduating class is selected to address the audience and the Graduate Student Excellence Award is presented. Like a commencement ceremony, graduates walk across the stage to be hooded. You can also choose to have your hands blessed by Father Sundborg. Student Track Representatives work closely with the Graduate Program Coordinator to plan this event in order to reflect each cohort's personality. The event is well attended by nursing faculty and you are encouraged to invite close family and friends to attend both the ceremony and the reception with light refreshments following.
