The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the form you need to fill out to get any financial aid from the federal government to help pay for college. Lots of states and colleges also use the FAFSA to determine which students get financial aid—and how much they’ll get. Each year, you will need to submit a new FASFA before each academic year if you are wanting to get Aid (and you should do so even if you think you may not qualify!). Applications open Oct. 1st and will close June 30th (Federal Deadline).

Obtaining a Tax Return Transcript is usually required if a student is not able to use the IRS Retrieval Tool on the FAFSA application. If the FAFSA is selected for verification and the IRS Data Retrieval option can not be used, students and parents must request a tax transcript from the IRS and submit to the Financial Aid Office.
