Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
This Monday, Nov. 12, the university will close for Veterans Day. I hope that as you enjoy this breather in the midst of a busy fall academic term, you also pause to reflect on the sacrifices made by our men and women in uniform and by their families and loved ones.
With SU’s Homecoming now taking place over Veterans Day weekend, it affords new opportunities for us to thank all veterans, especially those students, alumni, faculty and staff who have served, or are serving, our country in uniform. At Homecoming, you’ll find a list of events and activities planned to honor our veterans.
Expressing appreciation and caring for the veterans in our SU community is, of course, something we must do every day, not just one day or one weekend out of the year. I am grateful for the efforts made across campus to support Seattle University’s veterans in many important ways.
This Veterans Day and always, please join me in thanking our veterans for their service and sacrifice.
Sincerely,
Stephen V. Sundborg, S.J.
President
