FY17 Budget Update
Budget guidelines for FY17 will be sent to colleges, schools, divisions and departments within the next few days. Seattle University’s financial position remains strong with continued growth in the number of students enrolled at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. As budget deliberations get underway, the Cabinet starts the process committed to a handful of important priorities. Commitments include allocating significant funds to continue implementation of a state-of-the-art software system for core university operations, to provide competitive increases in wage pool compensation for faculty and staff and to launch new academic programs—as well as keeping tuition increases modest and costs as low as possible for students. These commitments mean a limited amount of resources are expected to be available for additional new funding requests.
Socially Responsible Investments Open Forum Sessions
The Socially Responsible Investments (SRI) Task Force invites you to share your thoughts on its work at one of two open forum sessions next week. Faculty, staff and students will have an opportunity to learn more about the task force’s work over the past seven months and the options it has been reviewing, and provide feedback to the task force before it makes final recommendations to the Board of Trustees Investment Committee. The sessions will be held Tuesday, Feb. 2, in Wyckoff Auditorium: 3-4 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. Learn more here.
