The Office of Registrar will help you navigate your academic journey – from registration through graduation. Look to us to provide you with the tools to keep your plans on track.
The Office of the Registrar, and several other offices across campus, are closed on Monday, June 10th as a result of our work on Sunday to celebrate the class of 2024 with undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremonies. We look forward to responding to your inquiry when we return to the office Tuesday morning.
If you are in need of assistance, please email us at registrar@seattleu.edu so we may be in contact when we return to the office Tuesday morning.
As the Office of the Registrar one of our primary services to the university is student registration and withdrawal from classes. Our office houses policies and forms that allow students to register, withdraw from a class, petition for an exception, and more.
The Office of the Registrar manages students’ academic records. Our office issues enrollment & degree verifications, Seattle University official & unofficial transcripts, and diplomas. We also manage the quarterly grading process, changes to students’ majors & minors and notification of students’ rights through the Federal Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Only course content and credit are accepted in transfer; the associated grades do not become a part of the Seattle University record. When “content” only is granted, the transfer course is used to satisfy a Seattle University requirement, but the credit earned does not count towards the total number of degree credits at Seattle University.
For information on how courses transfer into the University Core Curriculum, see University Core Curriculum (2012-01).
The maximum number of transfer credits accepted for undergraduate students is 135, comprising 90 lower division (this includes AP/IB/CLEP/DANTES and military coursework) and 45 upper division credits.
Students seeking admission to Seattle University should contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office for assistance with questions about how their credits may transfer.
