The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) designates certain information related to students as directory information and gives the University the right to disclose such information to anyone inquiring without having to ask students for permission.
You can prevent your directory information from being disclosed to third parties by submitting the Directory Information Removal or Prevention Disclosure form.

If you would like Seattle University to discuss specific elements of your academic record with a third party, such as your parent(s), a Release of Information (e-form) must be completed.
If you only want to provide access to view grades and financial aid, then you will need to set up proxy access. Instructions on how to set up proxy can be found on our Release of Information page.

The Student Update form is used to change/update a student's chosen name, legal name, gender, social security number (SSN), birthdate, or race/ethnicity.

Holds can be viewed on the landing page of mySeattleU and in a notification box at the top right corner of Student Planning. To remove the hold, please contact the department that assigned the restriction.

A course can only be dropped during the add/drop period of the quarter. View the academic calendar to see the last day to add/drop courses.
To drop a course:
Students may withdraw from a course via Student Planning on mySeattleU. International students and student athletes must submit a Withdrawal Request (e-form) before the deadline. Withdrawing from a course will result in a 'W' on your transcript.

An undergraduate student who receives a grade of C or below in a course at Seattle University may repeat that course. Both courses and grades will be posted to the permanent record. The grade earned the second, or the most recent time will be used in computing the cumulative grade point average. Course credits will be counted only once toward a degree.
A graduate student MUST repeat a required graduate course graded C- or below and MAY repeat a graduate course graded C+ or C. The grade earned the second time will be used in computing the cumulative grade point average. The original grade will remain on the record, but course credits will be counted only once toward a degree.

Current students: To audit a course, choose the 'AU-Audit' option when you register for the course on mySeattleU. See tuition and fees on the website to determine the cost of auditing a course.
Alumni: With instructor and department permission, Seattle University alumni may audit most undergraduate lecture courses. Alumni will not receive credit or grades for audited courses. To register for a course, or for more information about the alumni audit, contact our Alumni office.
Elders: With instructor and department permission, non-students and non-alumni aged 60 and above may audit most undergraduate lecture courses. Auditors participating in the Elder Audit program should download and complete the Audit Application. Auditors should return the completed form and check payment for $35 per course to the Office of the Registrar.
To track the progress of your form, please visit forms.seattleu.edu. To log in, select the large SU logo. Once you have signed in, go to the Activity tab.
In the Activity tab, find your form and view the History section of the form. If you see your form is waiting for approval from an individual/office, please contact them directly.

No, minors or majors cannot be added once you have graduated from your program at Seattle University.
All degree and minor requirements must be satisfied prior to such posting. A minor will not be posted after a first baccalaureate degree has been awarded.

Digital Diplomas and certificates are only available to students graduating Fall Quarter 2022 and later. Please note digital diploma and certificates are available in addition to the paper diploma and/or certificate you will recieve in the mail 4-6 weeks after graduating.
You will receive an email with a link to download your credential when it is available from our trusted partner, CeCredentialTrust. Please allow 10 to 14 business days after degrees are posted.
We are no longer giving out diploma covers to make our efforts greener, as most diploma covers end up discarded. However, we give out diploma covers upon request via email or in person at our office. Please email requests and mailing address to registrar@seattleu.edu.

Current students will need to submit a Transfer Verification Request (e-form). Students will be notified on how these courses will transfer over. In order to receive the credit, a final transcript needs to be sent to Seattle University.
Semester credit is translated into quarter credit by multiplying the amount of semester credit by 1.5.
*Most 5-credit courses at Seattle University can be satisfied by an equivalent transfer course that is equivalent to at least 4 quarter credits

To qualify for the Dean’s list, you must earn at least a 3.5 GPA for the quarter and have completed a minimum of 12 graded credits. Pass/fail and credit/fail classes do not count toward these 12 credits.
To make President's list, students must earn at least a 3.9 GPA for a given term and must have completed a minimum of 12 graded credits. Pass/fail and credit/fail classes do not count toward these 12 credits.
Students who are on the Dean's list or President's list will receive a letter of congratulations to their Seattle U email address.
