On May 3, Brady Battalion Cadets traveled to Ellensburg, WA to complete a unique training opportunity called the Norwegian Foot March. This event, which is held in conjunction with the Norwegian military, requires participants to march 18.6 miles with a 25 lb., rucksack (not including water and food) within a certain time frame. Those who successfully complete the march for the first time earn the bronze Norwegian Foot March badge which is a foreign service award. Additional successful completions are awarded as follows: the silver badge (two completions) and the gold badge (five completions).
Male cadets had 4 hours and 35 minutes to finish the march while female cadets had 5 hours and 25 minutes. Six Brady Battalion Cadets earned the bronze badge: CDTs Adler, Dhugga, Doyle, Ivie, Mach, and Muraki. Four cadets successfully completed the Norwegian Foot March for the third time, thus earning their silver badge and third badge overall: CDTs Baek, Barnhart, Cowles, and Miller. CDT Miller was the first participant to finish with a time of 3 hours and 7 minutes. Congratulations CDT Miller!
