Oceans cover over 70% of the Earth's surface and contain roughly 97% of the total water supply. Unfortunately, most of us do not interact with marine ecosystems on a daily basis, making it hard for us to see the negative impacts that we are having on our oceans. Nonetheless, humans are impacting almost every inch of our globe's marine environment, ranging from the open ocean to deep sea vents, making it imperative that we learn more about the major stressors on these systems. These podcasts were created by Marine Biology (BIOL 3650) students in the Biology Department at Seattle University. Over 30 scientific sources were used for each broadcast to help the listener get up-to-speed on the science behind each of these conservation challenges:
