American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Student Club participates in the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Pacific Northwest Steel Bridge Competition.
The department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is proud of our students who, against many odds and difficulties, were able to participate in the AISC PNW Steel Bridge Competition held this year in Bozeman, Montana. They resurrected the club after more 4 years of inactivity due to Covid. The students successfully assembled their bridge on time, passed the lateral load test with flying colors, and almost made the vertical load test (2300lb out of 2500lb) when some (accidentally-left) loose bolts rendered the deflection beyond the limit. They are rightfully happy as seen in the picture! From Left to right: Danny O'Brien (Co-captain), Lucas Lazaga, Maddy Phillips, Harold Nguyen, Juliana Andrade, and Spencer Machinski (Co-captain).
