Award Amounts (2023-2024): $2,400-$7,200
The Graduate Achievement Scholarship provides financial support to deserving new students entering the Master of Science in Computer Science and the Certificate in Computer Science Fundamentals programs. To be eligible for an award, students must be enrolling in a full-time program (6+ credits/quarter) and be an incoming student not currently enrolled in a Seattle University program.
The College of Science and Engineering offers two categories of awards: guaranteed merit awards based on an applicant’s GPA, and selected merit awards based on a holistic evaluation of application materials. Please see below for information specific to your intended program. Both US and international students are eligible for awards.
Guaranteed Merit Awards: All students applying to a Seattle University MSCS program (all specializations) with a 3.50+ GPA as evaluated by Seattle University will receive a $4,800 scholarship, awarded over three quarters.
Selected Merit Awards: MSCS applicants will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis for awards. Students evaluated below a 3.50 GPA remain eligible for scholarship consideration based on other factors in their application for enrollment. Awards for incoming MSCS students go up to $7,200.
Current Seattle University students applying to the MSCS program are not eligible for guaranteed merit awards but may be awarded a selected merit award based on their application. This includes students who are bridging to the MSCS program from the Career Change Certificate in Computer Science Fundamentals program as well as current Seattle University undergraduate students enrolling in the 1-Year Fast Track MSCS program.
Guaranteed Merit Awards: All students applying to the Career Change Certificate in Computer Science Fundamentals with a 3.65+ GPA as evaluated by Seattle University will receive a $2,400 scholarship, awarded over three quarters.
Selected Merit Awards: Certificate applicants will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis for awards. Students evaluated below a 3.65 GPA remain eligible for scholarship consideration based on other factors in their application for enrollment. Awards for incoming certificate students go up to $2,400.
The information on this page is for incoming Seattle University students. The CS Department may award selected merit awards for high-achieving students already enrolled at Seattle University. Awardees will be notified directly by the department and do not need to complete a separate application. Please contact the Computer Science department for more information.
