The MSCS program offers a curriculum based on theoretical foundations and practical applications. The program is designed for computing professionals seeking advanced study in computer science. Full-time students can complete the program in five quarters. The program also accommodates part-time students, who can complete the program in three years. Students have four degree options: research option, course-only option, specialization in software engineering, or a specialization in data science.
The MSDS program offers a curriculum based on theoretical foundations and practical applications. The core curriculum is based in applications and theory from statistics and computer science. To support their professional formation, students are provided many opportunities, via electives and team-based capstone projects, to gain domain-specific knowledge of how data science is utilized in a variety of fields. Seattle, with its deep connections to the technology industry, has become one of the intellectual centers of this emerging field, and there is a growing demand for data science professionals.
The MSME program provides advanced technical and professional skills aimed to progress careers in the mechanical engineering profession. Curriculum includes graduate courses in both mechanical engineering and business. Required coursework includes 8 graduate-level courses that span the entire breadth of disciplines of mechanical engineering and 4 graduate-level courses in project management, microeconomics, leadership, and ethical, legal, and regulatory environments.
The MSST program has been developed collaboratively between faculty members at Seattle University and an industrial advisory board representing the top structural engineering firms in the Seattle region as well as the public sector. Complete this non-thesis master’s program in nine months of full-time, intensive coursework or over two or more years of part-time study. All courses are held in the morning in order to accommodate the schedules of working professionals.
The Career Change Certificate Program gives you the foundation you need to enter our Master's in Computer Science program. No programming experience is required. If you already have a bachelor's degree, then you are eligible to apply. You will master object oriented programming, learn data structures and algorithm techniques, cover fundamentals of databases, computing systems and networks, and gain exposure to the software development lifecycle. In just one year, you could be on your way to a master's degree in computer science and a new career in the dynamic field of software development.
