Congratulations to senior Camille Zaug for being named the 2020 recipient of the College of Science and Engineering John S. Ju Award. In 1990, the College of Science and Engineering established an award in memory of John S. Ju, who received his chemistry degree from Seattle University in 1987. The College of Science and Engineering awards the John Ju award to the graduating senior in science or mathematics "who exudes the same profound joy and wonder at new ideas and curiosity to pursue the unknown, exhibited by John S. Ju".

PhysFest 2020 was a huge success! Thank you to our faculty, staff, and volunteers for making it a great event for our participants. PhysFest is for high school seniors with an interest of majoring in physics at Seattle University. It is an opportunity for these upcoming students to take a closer look at our program and engage with our faculty and current students. Students arrived on Friday where they enjoyed a reception dinner, toured the Physics department, and played fun activities with Physics Club. On Saturday, students performed various experiments and listened to alumni share their experiences about post-grad life. Thank you to everyone that was involved in making this year another great success!
