The purpose of the Seattle University Staff Council (SUSC) is to serve as a formal representative voice of our diverse and intersectional staff community. The Staff Council will advocate on behalf of staff and make recommendations to University leadership, including the President's Cabinet, on matters which impact staff including Seattle University culture. To ensure a positive environment and the personal and professional growth of all staff, SUSC will partner to develop opportunities for staff across all levels and departments.
I am pleased to announce that the Cabinet has approved the proposal put forth by the Staff Council Steering Committee to move forward in establishing a Staff Council at Seattle University. The council will be indispensable in amplifying the voice of our staff, helping to set priorities and the way forward for SU, enhancing the university’s culture and strengthening our efforts to be a more diverse and inclusive community.

The Staff Council Steering Committee held three open forums over the last several weeks. In each forum, Steering Committee members reviewed the work completed to date, presented proposals, and facilitated dialogue around representation, nominations and elections, and the timeline for moving forward. The Steering Committee is currently reviewing the feedback received in the forums and from around campus as we finalize our recommendations for our presentation to the Cabinet that is scheduled for mid-November. If you have input you would like to share with the steering committee, please do so by Friday, Nov. 2
