Confronting Conflict: An Educational Series on The Israel-Hamas War

The College of Arts and Sciences is sponsoring “Confronting Conflict: An Educational Series on The Israel-Hamas War,” for the SU community during Winter Quarter. These events provide a supportive academic environment for studying topics related to the Israel-Hamas War with SU experts and invited speakers.

The series began in Fall Quarter on Nov. 27 with Panel 1: “History to 1948,” featuring Liora Halperin, University of Washington, and Nova Robinson, SU History Department and International Studies Program with moderator Beatrice Lawrence.

The series continues with:

Panel 2: “History since 1948”

  • Thursday, Jan 11, 12:30 p.m., Pigott Auditorium
    Speakers:  Randa Tawil, Texas Christian University, and Charles Anderson, Western Washington University with moderator Nova Robinson.

Panel 3: “Finding Common Ground”

  • Monday, Jan 22, 12:30, Pigott Auditorium (note new location)
    Speakers:  Mira Sucharov, Carleton University, and Omar Dajani, University of the Pacific, moderated by Natasha Martin, Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion

Students who attend at least three events in the series will be entered into a raffle to win prizes.

The series will continue with weekly teach-ins and panels throughout WQ. Stay tuned for details. 

Please note: These events are open only to Seattle University students, faculty and staff, and attendees need to present their SU ID at the event.
