In honor of Black History Month, the Seattle University African American Alumni Chapter is hosting African American Literature: Preserving Cultural Perspective to examine and discuss the historical importance of African American literature and the experiences represented therein.
With the waves of censorship and the removal of important works from schools, libraries and other institutions, this event provides a timely opportunity to bring our African American alumni and broader community together for a time of reflection, dialogue and community. The program moderated by Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion Natasha Martin, J.D. will feature a poetry reading, remarks from Minnie Collins of the African American Writers Alliance and a panel featuring African American faculty and alumni.
