Center for Digital Learning & Innovation
Posted: September 29, 2021
The Center for Digital Learning & Innovation offers the following workshops for any interested faculty. Contact Mafil Fabroquez Cho at cdli@seattleu.edu with any questions.
- Canvas New Quizzes (Virtual): Monday, Oct. 4, 10–11 a.m.
With its current tool, Classic Quizzes, retiring in summer 2022, Canvas has a new tool, New Quizzes. Join this workshop to learn about the features available in New Quizzes, how to create a quiz, as well as learn how to migrate your Classic Quizzes into New Quizzes. RSVP and see more workshop information. - Whiteboarding (Virtual): Wednesday, Oct. 6, 10:30 a.m.–noon
Explore diagramming and drawing using whiteboard apps. This workshop will explore whiteboard applications including the Zoom Whiteboard and Microsoft Whiteboard app, with a foray into equipment presentation using iPads, Android tablets, Tablet PCs and other creative options. RSVP and see more workshop information. - Create Community with Padlet (Virtual): Thursday, Oct. 7, 9–10 a.m.
Faculty love using Padlet because it’s a simple way to make a bulletin board where students can add images, links, videos, audio and other interactive media. It’s useful for collecting ideas, brainstorming, sharing presentations, research, project drafts and more. Plus, it’s easy to embed on a Canvas page. RSVP and see workshop information. - Making the Most of the Canvas Gradebook (Virtual): Friday, Oct. 8, 1–2 p.m.
Distribute scores and feedback to each student in your course from one screen—the Canvas Gradebook. There are many time-saving features, for example: two clicks inside the Gradebook allows you to message all students who haven’t yet submitted their work to a particular assignment. RSVP and see workshop information.
Please note above workshops are held via Zoom. Links to Zoom meetings will be sent prior to the start of the workshop. If you are unable to attend a particular workshop or need advice about something specific to your course, consider signing up for an individual consultation.
