By: Center for Digital Learning and Innovation

The Center for Digital Learning & Innovation offers the following workshops for any interested faculty. Contact us at cdli@seattleu.edu with any questions.

  • Canvas Studio (In-Person) – Monday, April 3, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Canvas Studio allows you to store and stream video, generate closed captions and embed videos within Canvas. Plus, it allows students (or instructors) to add a question or comment to any point in a video. This workshop will cover all the basics of using Canvas Studio. RSVP and see more workshop information.

  • Canvas Assignments & Quizzes (Virtual) – Wednesday, April 5, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
This workshop will focus on building different types of assignments and quizzes exploring the different settings. We will learn how to add rubrics, set up group work and assign peer reviews. This will also be a great opportunity to share your own examples and explore how Canvas will work for you! RSVP and see more workshop information.

  • Create Community with Padlet (Virtual) – Wednesday, April 5, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Faculty love using Padlet because it is easy to make a bulletin board where students can add images, links, videos, audio and other interactive media. It’s useful for collecting ideas; brainstorming; sharing presentations, research, project drafts and more. Plus, it is easy to embed on a Canvas page. RSVP and see workshop information.

  • Microsoft Sway for Teaching (Virtual) – Thursday, April 6, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Microsoft Sway is a free, cloud-based digital presentation and storytelling app included with SU's Office 365. Simple to use, Sway accepts almost any file format including videos, PDFs, text, audio, images and charts. Completed projects can be seamlessly embedded or linked into Canvas pages, submitted as assignments and used as lesson modules. RSVP and see more workshop information.

Please note which workshop type you are attending. For Zoom meetings, a link will be sent prior to the start of the workshop. If you are unable to attend a particular workshop or need advice about something specific to your course, consider signing up for an individual consultation!
