CEIE Newsletter | Director Michael Trice, Brings Us into the New Year
Posted: January 19, 2024
“Our shared story of resilience, of mutual generosity, of kindness and well-being, transcends all of us, and yet includes each of us every day in particular ways. These two values, if we could name them across religious and philosophical worldviews, are to care for and to protect one another.”
– Dr. Michael Reid Trice
As we begin a new month and a new year, Dr. Michael Reid Trice, founding director and Spehar-Halligan Professor of the Center for Ecumenical and Interreligious Engagement (CEIE), guides the listener through in the January CEIE message, with a focus on what is required of leadership today in order to not become mired in current conflict while preparing to become viable interlocutors of healing in tomorrow’s necessary revolution for liberation, transformation and growth.
You’ll also find that, in the perspectives of writers throughout The Interfaith Observer and in CEIE’s podcasts of those who have direct experience of violence in their communities, they seek many ways for responding to violence in their lives and the lives of those around them, especially amidst the violence in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
Please continue to engage with CEIE in dialogue, conversation and learning as we navigate our ever-evolving and challenging world.
