On Oct. 21, the Center for Ecumenical and Interreligious Engagement (CEIE) hosted a Lutheran Summit at which attendees discussed their aspirations for the spiritual formation and development of church leaders in the Pacific Northwest. Rev. Dr. Rouse shares that the summit was important because it allowed bishops, laypeople, educators, clergy and community-service providers to come together and cooperate with one another.
Rev. Dr. Rouse describes the topics discussed during the Summit as “the unique culture of spirituality in the Northwest, the complex issues of trauma and anxiety taking its toll on pastors and congregations, and the future of university and seminary cooperation in theological formation”
Rev. Dr. Rick W. Rouse, an advisory council member for CEIE, currently sits on the Advisory Board for the Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary and is vice president of the Association of Leaders in Lifelong Learning for Ministry (ALLLM). He is a certified spiritual director and ordained pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
