Center for Community Engagement Receives Award to Support Early Learning Program

Congratulations to the Center for Community Engagement and Program Director Lupita Torrez on being awarded $150,000 from the Bainum Family Foundation to support the Seattle University Youth Initiative's Early Learning Program over the next two years.

The Early Learning Program partners with families, teachers, administrators, care providers and the community to collectively ensure children are ready to flourish in kindergarten and thrive in life. The program uplifts both the uniqueness of each child and the whole family’s leadership while upholding family identities, such as race, culture and language as assets.
