Center for Ecumenical and Interreligious Engagement Awarded Grant
Posted: January 27, 2022
Dr. Michael Trice and the Center for Ecumenical and Interreligious Engagement was awarded a $27,000 grant from the Alfred & Tillie Shemanski Testamentary Trust, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee to expand the Interreligious Initiative and its public discernment for a new generation. Funding will expand the initiative’s reach to constituencies on our campus, in our community and more broadly to national and international audiences. The main elements of the Interreligious Initiative are: 1) the employment student works dedicated to religious literacy capacity-building, and 2) the development of online educational opportunities for community and classroom that focus on how values within religion are formative to a healthy society, especially during increased public discord.
