Course Packs for Fall Quarter Due Now

Dear Faculty and Staff,
The submission deadline for Fall Quarter 2023 course packs composed of ALL material was July 21. Additionally, course pack requests will not be accepted after Sept. 1. If you need assistance in securing permissions please send your request form to copyright@seattleu.edu as soon as possible. Pack requests will be addressed on a first come, first served basis. Course pack items will be reproduced as submitted with a reasonable effort to achieve highest readability. Digital course pack requests are highly recommended.
The Office of Copyright Compliance
The Office of Copyright Compliance is available to assist all faculty, staff, and students in the process of securing permission to reproduce print, film, music, and images. The Copyright Office also works directly with Reprographics to produce print and digital course packs and can assist you in making determinations of fair use and public domain.
Course Packs
To submit a course pack, please read and complete the Course Pack Request Form. (You may need to click view and then edit document.) Save the completed form to your hard drive and submit as an attachment to copyright@seattleu.edu 296-2308. If you are unable to meet the deadlines below, your course pack will not be ready by the start of the quarter; therefore, please plan accordingly.
FALL 2023
- Requests with ALL "NEW", "Repeats" and "Altered" material: July 21, 2023

- Classes Start September 15, 2023
WINTER 2024
- Requests with ALL "NEW", "Repeats" and "Altered" material: October 27, 2023
- Please complete request form with ALL of the information requested.
- Classes Start January 3, 2024
Classroom Use – Faculty and staff are required to obtain permission to use multiple copies (print or electronic) of copyrighted work unless that use is determined to qualify for an exemption to copyright law, such as fair use or public domain.
Lemieux Library Resources – The Lemieux Library and McGoldrick Learning Commons subscribes to hundreds of electronic journals and databases that are available for course readings. The best practice is to provide links to these electronic articles in CANVAS (instructions are at https://libguides.seattleu.edu/linking). It is recommended that you not include print copies of library electronic articles for course packs as this usually requires a separate copyright permission and additional fees. Professors are welcome to provide links to library material or other content available freely on the web in your syllabus.
University Copyright Policy – All university members are required to comply with university copyright policy. Faculty and staff are encouraged to review the policy online to ensure they respect the rights and privileges of copyright holders.
