Employee Parking Passes and ORCA Cards
Posted: October 13, 2022
Dear Faculty and Staff,
As the 2022-23 academic year gets underway and we return to regular operations, you may want to review your transportation options.
If you stopped your monthly parking deduction, you will want to renew your permit through iParq. You will log into iParq with your SU credentials. As we are using License Plate Recognition to validate parking permits, please be sure to check that your vehicle license plate number is current in the system.
The parking rate remains the same as last year at $120 per month. Permits are paid through payroll deduction or purchased by the day at $8 per day through iParq. If you are only occasionally on campus the pay-by-day option may be more cost-effective. If you can carpool with one other community members to campus the monthly rate is $55. Please see the carpool details below.
Please note that parking permits are required all hours all days when parking on campus. If you have any questions regarding transportation beyond what is listed, feel free to contact us at parkingservices@seattleu.edu or 206-296-5992. The Transportation Office is located in the Columbia Building Room 002 and open Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
PARKING PERMITS:
If you currently have an annual parking permit:
There is no need to take any action. Your permit will continue until you advise Parking Services you are opting out. Please do verify your license plate and vehicle information are correct in iParq.
If you currently do not have a parking permit:
Step #1: Please order a parking permit online through iParq.
Step #2: You will also need to enroll in a parking payroll deduction for the Academic Year or the Annual parking permit and can do so by clicking here.
At any time, you may disenroll your SU parking permit and stop your payroll deduction by submitting a request on the Transportation website at permit cancellation.
SU EMPLOYEE SUBSIDIZED ORCA CARD:
If you currently have an SU Orca card and did not stop your payroll deduction: There is nothing further you need to do. Please continue to use your current Orca card.
If you disenrolled from the Employee Orca program and wish to re-enroll, please bring with your SU ID card and visit the Transportation Office located in the Columbia Building Room 002 and open Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
The SU Employee ORCA Card is $12.54 per month and available to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff who choose to commute to work using public transportation who do not have a current parking permit or are a member of a carpool. This mass transit pass provides access to most regional buses and trains. Washington State Ferry walk-on passenger passes can be added to the Orca card for an additional fee. If you would like to enroll in an SU Orca card, please visit the Transportation Office.
The monthly cost of the Orca Transit Pass includes the ORCA Flex Parking Permits that allow for parking up to 5 days each month. Once enrolled in the ORCA program, as you occasionally drive to campus you will need to order your parking permit through iParq before parking on campus.
You can also explore and plan your commute via public transportation by visiting the Metro Trip Planner.
At any time, you can return the Orca card to the Transportation Office to disenroll from the Employee Orca program.
CARPOOL:
If you regularly drive to campus with one or more SU community members and have the same/similar schedules, you may apply for a carpool permit. If approved, the employee carpool group rate is $55 per month. All carpool groups will need to fill out a carpool application to apply for the employee carpool program. For more information, please click here. If you are still looking to meet your carpool partner, please check out the Seattle University Rideshare board on ConnectSU (campus ridesharelink ).
Thank You!
