Introducing The MOSAIC Center
Posted: July 13, 2023
We are excited to introduce you to The MOSAIC Center (formerly the Office of Multicultural Affairs and Student Success & Outreach). The center’s purpose and function is to create Meaningful Opportunities for Student Access, Inclusion and Community.
The MOSAIC Center is born out of a thoughtful integration of the events, programs, student support and resources that were once provided by OMA and SS&O. Together, we will continue to lead the campus’s aim of becoming a more inclusively excellent community with a specific focus on removing barriers and supporting the thriving of students from historically minoritized and/or underserved backgrounds. These populations include but are not limited to students of color, LGBTQIA+ students, undocumented students, first-generation students, veteran and military-connected students, commuter students, transfer students, and graduate and adult learners.
Like a mosaic, which is made complete by celebrating the unique qualities of each piece of tile or glass, we believe that our campus community is made greater and more expansive because of and by celebrating the unique gifts, stories and talents of each member of our diverse community. As we live into this new and exciting identity as The MOSAIC Center, we will continue to honor the rich history and accomplishments of OMA and SS&O. We will continue to provide many of our signature events and programs, while piloting new ideas to meet the ever-changing needs of our students.
To help you navigate this change with us, we (re)introduce you to the full-time staff at The MOSAIC Center and their areas of leadership. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or ideas for collaboration!
Thanks in advance from all of us for your support, patience and partnership as we live into our new identity as The MOSAIC Center. You can reach us now at mosaic@seattleu.edu and follow us on Instagram at @su_mosaic to stay up-to-date on our programs, events and services.
