Latest Podcast from CEIE: An Interview with Father Kureethadam, Advisor to the Pope
Posted: February 11, 2022
Father Joshtrom Isaac Kureethadam spoke with Center Director Dr. Michael Trice. Father Kureethadam is the coordinator of the Sector of Ecology and Creation at the Vatican Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, one of the closest advisors on climate to Pope Francis. His latest work, The Ten Green Commandments of Laudato Si’, was published in 2019 in paperback.
Father Kureethadam brings his study of philosophy, science and theology together to help us understand the impact of climate change and the imminent increase of 1.5 degrees. He eloquently expresses the impact of this climate threshold that is also a theological threshold. How can we address this existential threat to humanity with a science of hope? He sees the promise that comes from ordinary everyday people around the world stepping up, in a sense raised up, as agents of change in the world.
Listen now to this reflection: 1.5 Degrees and a Changing Climate
