National Student Employment Week: April 10–16

National Student Employment Week is April 10-16. SU joins this national celebration to recognize the contributions of our student employees. Their dedication, enthusiasm and skillful work across campus is invaluable to the advancement of SU's mission and vision. We are also grateful to the supervisors of student employees who diligently and thoughtfully guide students in their skill development, career discernment, and professional formation.

During this week, we'll be recognizing our student employees and supervisors in two ways:

1. Shine Awards Nominations

These awards recognize SU students for their work in experiential education and student employment, as well as their supervisors and the departments who have dedicated efforts toward supporting students' career discernment and skill development. Help us celebrate your favorite place to work, rockstar student employee, or dedicated supervisor by submitting nominations. The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, April 15, so get to it. Submit your nominations here!

2. Kudos and Coffee | Thursday, April 14, 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Student employees and supervisors are invited to stop by our table outside Pigott Pavilion on Thurs, April 14 for free coffee or tea and a high five/fist bump/foot tap/cheers to say thank you for all you do! Just bring proof of student employment or supervision (i.e. pay stub, supervisor e-mail, a project you've worked on, a photo of you at work).

Supervisors and departments with student employees, join us in celebrating your student employees! Here are some ideas:

• Send a thank-you e-mail or hand-written note
• Create an e-card and have your office/department staff sign
• Design an appreciation post on social media
• Recognize your student employees in your next department newsletter
• Shout-out your student employees in your staff meeting, and bring some treats
• Decorate your office space
• Nominate your standout student employee(s) for Shine Awards
• Send your student employees to Pigott Pavilion on Thursday, April 14 between 10 a.m. and 1:30 pm to grab a free coffee/tea. Better yet, go with them!
