Reigniting Our Strategic Directions Video

Dear Faculty and Staff, 

This week I had the pleasure of joining Provost Shane Martin at the Provost’s Convocation, where I helped kick off the discussion with comments about our strategic plan, A Jesuit University of Distinction for a Time of Change: Reigniting Our Strategic Directions, 2022-2027. This plan represents our best collective thinking about how to intelligently pursue our mission into a future characterized by change and uncertainty and how as a university we will be simultaneously innovative, progressive, Jesuit and Catholic. Shane’s substantive presentation provided additional context and planning themes, with more details to follow in the weeks to come. 

In addition to what was presented at the Provost’s Convocation, we have produced a video summarizing the purpose of strategic planning and explaining the high-level objectives found within the Reigniting Our Strategic Directions foundation and goals. This video was shared with the University Board of Trustees last week and can be found online. I encourage you to watch the video and survey the working groups we are setting in motion. In the months and years ahead, we will need to tap into the accumulated experience and wisdom of the people of Seattle University in order to move from goals to plans of action and metrics of accountability.
