Remembering David Jackson
Posted: November 15, 2023
Dear Colleagues,
With great sadness, I write to share that Dr. O. David Jackson Assistant Dean, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Albers School of Business and Economics, passed away last week.
Having earned a Leadership Executive MBA from Seattle University in 2008, Dr. Jackson returned to Albers in 2016 to serve as an adjunct instructor in management and subsequently the Center for Leadership Formation. With a successful corporate career—including his time as a director of human resources at Microsoft—Dr. Jackson shared with students invaluable insight and extensive expertise in such areas as human resources management, organizational development and diversity, equity and inclusion. He became a double alumnus when he earned an EdD from SU in 2018.
Most recently, Dr. Jackson was overseeing the Summer Business Institute and the RAMP UP program, which assists Black-owned businesses in Seattle, while also playing a key role in the university’s Supplier Diversification Program. He provided outstanding leadership to the university at-large, serving since 2017 on the university’s Board of Regents.
Condolences can be sent to Dr. Jackson’s family at this address:

Respectfully,
