Support for Students Impacted by Wildfires in Hawaii

This message was sent today to students and families impacted by the wildfires in Hawaii.

Aloha, Students:

As we prepare for the upcoming academic year, I am writing on behalf of Seattle University to express our support for our students and their families who have been impacted by the wildfires burning in several areas across the Hawaiian Islands, with Western Maui experiencing particularly devasting impacts. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those who are now embarking on a long and difficult road to recovery. If you and your family have been impacted by this disaster, there are several resources available to you at Seattle University to support you during this difficult time.  

Support Resources

For university support and resources, please visit https://www.seattleu.edu/deanofstudents/care/resources/.  Some of the many resources available to you include Counseling & Psychological Services, Campus Ministry, the Office of the Dean of Students, and more. As a reminder, TimelyCare provides 24/7 support for enrolled students from anywhere in the United States at no additional cost.  Incoming students will be able to use TimelyCare starting on August 21.

For residential students who may need to arrive early or remain in campus housing over break periods due to displacement, please contact the Office of the Dean of Students at deanofstudents@seattleu.edu. Short-term emergency housing may also be available for non-residential students displaced by these events. Your building Area Coordinator, Assistant Area Coordinator, and RAs are great resources for additional support and care throughout the year.
