The Negro Passion Play: Script Reading

The Office of Multicultural Affairs and Campus Ministry are excited to invite you to come get a first look at "The Negro Passion Play (TNPP)," a new play written by Kathya Alexander and directed by Tyrone Brown (SU alumnus and founder of Moral Mondays at SU).
TNPP re-imagines a traditional Passion Play by setting the biblical story and its characters in the Civil Rights Movement. TNPP is not the story of Jesus, it is the story of a fictionalized Black man named Immanuel. This play is sure to stretch your thinking and understanding of faith, love and justice.
Notes: This is a three-hour-long script reading. Due to the length of the reading, audience members are welcome to enter and exit the space at their leisure.
