Writing Center Open for Consultations
Posted: July 6, 2023
Hope you are enjoying the long summer days. This is a quick reminder that the Writing Center is open this summer (June 26–Sep. 9). In-person as well as virtual synchronous and asynchronous consultations are available.
For Students
In-person & virtual (synchronous and asynchronous) individual consultations
Undergraduate and graduate peer consultants are available to support students in one-on-one consultations at any stage of the writing process. The center's team can support students in brainstorming, planning, outlining, integrating resources, etc. To schedule a consultation, students can create an account here.
The instant chat on the Writing Center page is staffed during its regular hours. Students can also reach out by e-mail writingcenter@seattleu.edu.
The Welcome to the Writing Center Video describes the available services and walks students through a step-by-step tutorial on how to access them.
For Faculty
- Class visits and special topics workshops
The writing consultants offer class visits and facilitate writing workshops. To request a class visit, fill out the class visit form. Placing your request early will allow the center to plan its staffing.
- Feedback on Assignment Prompts
Faculty members can also receive feedback on assignment prompts from a student’s perspective. As students themselves and as consultants who support other students in reading and unpacking assignment prompts, the writing consultants can provide insightful feedback to faculty members. If you are interested, check out more details at Writing Center Feedback Service.
Handouts and Other Resources
The Writing Center has developed several useful handouts and writing resources that you are welcome to duplicate/adapt and use in your classes or to refer students to
