Michael Clymer graduated from New Vista High School in Boulder, CO. They served as President of The Alliance - LGBTQ/Queer and Allied Student Group for 3 years. Michael also served as a member of the City of Boulder Youth Opportunities Advisory Board, where they were recognized as an Outstanding Youth Volunteer, and their senior year they co-taught Equity in the United States as a student/peer teacher. Michael helped run a middle school Allies anti-bullying group for 2 years and also hosted a panel discussion about LGBT bullying in the Boulder Valley School District. Along with these accomplishments, Michael has held part-time retail jobs and completed an academically-focused trip to Europe.
Michael is an International Studies and Sociology double major and a University Honors student who dedicates most of their time to academics. They are also a member of Wingmen, a group of students gathering to discuss sexual violence and masculinity; and a group of anti-racist white students in conversation of whiteness and white supremacy. Michael loves the sense of community that the Sullivan Leadership Program fosters and has welcomed them into as a first year student.
