April graduated from McKinley High School in Honolulu, HI. She was a member of the Symphonic Orchestra, Marching Band and the Hawaii Flute Society, she served as her high school’s representative to the Hawaii State Student Council and was a member of the Center for Tomorrow’s Leaders, a community youth leadership development program. She was very active in student government having served as Class President her freshman and sophomore years, Executive VP her junior year and ASB President her senior year. She founded a student-led Bullying Awareness group in 2012 along with two other members.
April is junior majoring in strategic communications with a specific interest in the music industry, and is currently studying abroad in South Korea. She is a marketing intern for The Center for Tomorrow’s Leaders, a nonprofit leadership program in Hawaii. April has also held internships at Seattle Theatre Group and BAMP Project as a concert marketing intern. Her favorite aspect of the Sullivan Leadership Program is being surrounded by a community who constantly inspires and motivates her.
