Elijah “EJ” Pinera graduated from Cleveland High School in Seattle, WA. He was the Student Body President, National Honors Society historian, and member of the swim team. As Student Body President, EJ worked to promote a motto of “spirit, unity and progress” within his school community. He was a member of the Key Club and participated in Mock Trial and Earth Corps. EJ served as a children’s church teacher, worship leader, and piano player for Trinity Life Center; and has interned at New Life Church in Renton, serving on both their environment and worship teams. He has traveled with his youth group to Yakima, WA, and Ogden, UT, on service trips.
EJ is pursuing his B.S. in Psychology with a Studio Art minor. He is the Vice President of Activities for the United Filipino Club, a steering committee member for the Center for Community Engagement, and a campus leader at the New Life Church plant in Burien. What he enjoys most about Seattle University is the Youth Initiative, through which he regularly works with many local students. In the future, he wants to invest in the communities of underserved youth, and learning from Bailey Gatzert Elementary has been giving him great experience.
