Ashley Teofilo attends Garfield High School and calls Seattle home. She plans to pursue a degree in Engineering or Computer Science. She has passionately pursued her interest in STEM fields by participating in Seattle University’s AI for All program, as well as Girls Who Code. In addition to playing competitive soccer, she coaches a soccer team for low-income immigrant girls. She also serves as Co-President of Razas Unidas, a club that celebrates Latinx culture, where she has distinguished herself as a social justice advocate, and successfully organized to establish a Heritage Spanish course at Garfield. She is also a member of the First Lego League, an all-girls robotics team at her high school. Her teacher writes in her letter of recommendation that “Ashley stands out for her humility, leadership, perseverance, and passion for social justice”.
