The Web Team is getting closer to launching the design refresh and template changes and we have more details for you about this website transition.
Launch Details
The tentative date for the launch of the design refresh and template changes is Tue, Nov 21.
In anticipation of the launch, all publishing will be suspended beginning the afternoon of Fri, Nov 17th through the launch date, in order for us to make all of the necessary changes to the templates. (Though if something comes up during that time period that urgently needs to be published, please let us know.)
Also in preparation for the launch, you will start to see radio button options for zones in your content items starting next week – but those buttons won’t work until after the launch.
Action Needed Before Launch
- If you need to make changes to your website between now and Thanksgiving break, please make sure you make those changes in the CMS before noon on Fri, Nov 17.
- Review the order of your content items in each section (page). After the launch, your mobile users will see your content on your website in the order they are listed in the section. What order do you want your content to appear for mobile users? Make sure your content items are listed from top to bottom in the order you want your mobile users to see them. This only affects the mobile view of pages with content items in more than one zone.
New Resource on Accessibility
We have recently published a new resource for content editors: a webpage outlining things you can do in T4 to make your website more accessible for all users – especially users with disabilities. Please take a look at our new content guidelines for increasing accessibility.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns!
